DoorDash to deliver same-day COVID-19 test kits

DoorDash has announced that they will be delivering same-day COVID-19 test kits that would allow a person to get test results within 24 to 48 hours.

The company partnered with Vault Health and Everlywell to give customers from 12 different DashMart locations access to two different types of COVID-19 tests, according to the company’s announcement.

Vault Health provides the saliva test and Everlywell provides a lower nasal swab test.

The locations the service will be available include Baltimore, Chicago, Cleveland, Dallas, Denver, Minneapolis and Phoenix.

Vault Health’s kit will cost $119 and Everlywell’s kit will cost $109. However, depending on a person’s health insurance, some of the amount for the kit will be reimbursed.

“Vault makes diagnostic testing easy, comfortable, and very fast across the US. Our partnership with DoorDash unlocks same-day access to our easy to collect saliva COVID test, allowing a patient to spit into a tube and receive their results in 24 hours to get them back to travel, work, school, and family time,” Jason Feldman, Vault Founder and CEO, said in the announcement.

During the pandemic, DoorDash has been adjusting its services and has included delivery of over-the-counter medications.

The company also announced plans in February to provide 30,000 COVID-19 tests at a discounter price to restaurant owners.
