Biden visited McCain in recovery in Arizona

Former Vice President Joe Biden visited Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) at his Arizona ranch earlier this week as the senator is recovering from his brain cancer treatment and surgery for an infection, The Associated Press reported Saturday.

The two men sat together for 90 minutes on Sunday, people close to both men told the AP.

Biden’s visit comes after two of McCain’s closest friends, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and retired Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman (I), visited the senator at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix two weeks ago.

Meghan McCain, the senator’s daughter, also tweeted on Friday that she would visit her father.

McCain had hoped to return to the Senate this session but was unable to after brain cancer treatment and surgery for an intestinal infection.

Despite his health issues, McCain has finished working on a new book set to be released later this month.
