Donald Trump Jr. raises Obama comments on his youth to defend Kavanaugh
Donald Trump Jr. resurfaced President Obama’s comments about his behavior as an adolescent as Democrats criticize Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh for his alleged heavy drinking in high school and college amid accusations of sexual assault from that time in his life.
“I’m old enough to remember when this was heroic,” Trump tweeted along with a video of Obama reminiscing about his youth.

“I drank and…consumed substances that weren’t always legal,” Obama said in the 2001 interview. “I got in fights.”
{mosads}”Some of my behavior was self destructive,” Obama said. “I might drink a six-pack in an hour before going back to class. Things like that.”
Democrats have pursued Kavanaugh for his drinking in high school and college, questioning him about his consumption of alcohol during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing last Thursday.
“We drank beer. I liked beer. I still like beer,” Kavanaugh said. “Sometimes probably had too many beers.”
Kavanaugh denied in his testimony that he had ever experienced memory loss as a result of drinking.
The hearings were held to evaluate Christine Blasey Ford’s allegation that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her at a party in the summer of 1982.
Kavanaugh has unequivocally denied the accusation and presented his calendars from the period to the committee to indicate he was not present at the event in question.
The three other people Ford has named as fellow party attendees have said they do not remember the event she described.
One, a lifelong friend of Ford’s, said she has never met Kavanaugh, though she believes Ford’s allegation.
Senate Republicans on Wednesday said they expect to soon hear from the FBI after it completes its reopened background check on Kavanaugh.
