Ex-House intern charged with ‘doxing’ GOP senators during Kavanaugh hearing

The man arrested by U.S. Capitol Police on Wednesday for allegedly “doxing” one or more GOP senators has been identified as a former intern for Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas).

Jackson A. Cosko, 27, of Washington, D.C., had been working as an intern in Lee’s office and has been fired, Politico reported, citing the congresswoman’s chief of staff, Glenn Rushing.

“We’re just cooperating with law enforcement right now,” Rushing told Politico.

{mosads}Cosko was arrested for allegedly posting “private, identifying information (doxing) about one or more United States senators to the Internet,” Capitol Police said Wednesday.

Cosko graduated from The George Washington University in 2014 and had worked for Democratic Sens. Maggie Hassan (N.H.) and Barbara Boxer (Calif.), according to Politico.

He was reportedly caught Tuesday night after making an unauthorized entry into Hassan’s office. A staffer for the senator called the police.

He is due in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia the coming next Thursday.

The arrest comes a week after reports emerged that someone working in the House had posted the home addresses and personal cellphone numbers of GOP Sens. Orrin Hatch (Utah), Mike Lee (Utah) and Lindsey Graham (S.C.) on Wikipedia. All three lawmakers of members of the Senate Judiciary Committee.

The anonymous Wikipedia edits were made when Judiciary Committee members questioned Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh during last Thursday’s hearing.
