In a tweet on SundayEnzi’s son Brad Enzi shared that his father got into a bike wreck and was transported to a nearby medical facility by life flight. Brad Enzi asked for the public to send their prayers toward his family.

“One of the best basketball fans in the country needs giant prayers tonight after a bike wreck and life flight last night,” the younger Enzi said in his tweet. “Also happens to be my GOAT Dad. Any and all prayers and thoughts accepted no denomination or creed preferred. Just lift him up!”

Mike Enzi’s longtime friend Nello Williams told the Gillette News Record that since the former senator arrived at a Colorado medical facility on Saturday night, he hasn’t heard any updates on his condition.

Enzi, 77, retired in early 2021 after serving as Wyoming’s senator for 24 years, the Gillette News Record reported.

Current state Sen. Cynthia Lummis (R) defeated her challenger, Merav Ben-David (D), last November to fill Enzi’s seat in the Senate.
