Hawaii panel passes resolution calling for statue of Obama
A state Senate committee in Hawaii voted on Tuesday to approve a resolution calling for a statue of former President Obama to be erected in his home state.
The state Senate Judiciary Committee unanimously approved the resolution, KITV 4 News reported.
The resolution asks the Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts to commission the statue. It directs an art advisory committee to be created to choose a location for the statue and select an artist to create it.
