Authorities say a man was arrested Monday after he attempted to storm the FBI office in Atlanta, ramming his vehicle into the building’s gates.

The man, who was not affiliated with the FBI and has not been identified, allegedly drove to the facility tailing an employee, attempting to bypass security gates just after noon Monday. When security barriers were raised, he rammed into them. Nearby FBI agents quickly apprehended the man, the agency said.

The FBI said his motive is unknown and the agency is working with local law enforcement on criminal charges. As a precaution, a bomb team cleared the vehicle, the agency said.

The agency added that the man was taken to a local hospital for a medical and mental evaluation.
