A police officer in Seattle was placed on administrative leave after video footage showed him walking his bike across a protester lying in the street.

Footage captured from protests in Seattle on Wednesday show a group of police walking and riding bikes down the street as one officer, dismounted from his bike, runs over the head of a person on the ground.

“He just ran over his head. He just ran over his head. Oh my god. Oh my god,” said the person recording the video. “He just ran over that guy’s head with his bicycle. I hope you guys saw that.”

The footage cuts off as police push protesters away from the man on the ground.

The Seattle Police Department (SPD) said the incident was under internal investigation, adding the information was referred to the King County Sheriff’s Office for a potential criminal investigation, The Washington Post reported.

The protester was not injured and was arrested and booked at Seattle’s jail, police detective Mark Jamieson told the Post.

The Hill contacted SPD but did not immediately receive a response.

Seattle police said they made more than a dozen arrests Wednesday evening as demonstrators protested the Kentucky grand jury’s ruling about the police shooting of Breonna Taylor which did not charge the three officers in her death on March 13.
