Indiana attorney general hopeful and former GOP Rep. Todd Rokita has tested positive for COVID-19, his campaign announced Tuesday.
According to the IndyStar, Rokita’s campaign released a statement saying that he was exposed to someone with COVID-19, though it is unclear when he was exposed.
Rokita tested positive after developing “some symptoms,” the news outlet reported. He has been in quarantine with his family, and his campaign said “he is doing well and working from home.”
Rokita represented Indiana’s 4th District in Congress from 2011 to 2019. He was twice elected to serve as Indiana’s secretary of state.
The former congressman and attorney general candidate is facing off against Democratic challenger Jonathan Weinzapfel, who is the former mayor of Evansville, in Tuesday’s general election.
