The Rev. Raphael Warnock, who is in a tight race in one of Georgia’s Senate runoff elections on Jan. 5, said Thursday he would “stay focused on the people of Georgia” after a video emerged of his ex-wife’s allegations that he ran over her foot.

“I’m going to stay focused on my family which includes their mother and I’m going to stay focused on the people of Georgia who during a pandemic are still waiting on relief all these months later while politicians including Kelly Loeffler are busy playing games.” Warnock said in response to the video.

Video footage captured from a police body camera in March showed Warnock and his ex-wife after she claimed he ran over her foot during a verbal argument, a local affiliate CBS46 reported.

“She won’t move and she’s keeping the door … I’m thinking she’s clear and I barely moved and all the sudden she’s screaming that I ran over her foot. I don’t believe it,” Warnock said in the video.

“This man is running for the United States Senate and all he cares about right now is his reputation,” Warnock’s ex-wife, Ouleye Ndoye, says in the video.

Warnock and his ex-wife were handling a divorce proceeding around the time of the incident.

The Atlanta Police Department reported medical examiners requested the woman reveal her foot to check for injuries. Investigators said she was initially hesitant to show her foot, but when she did examiners found no signs her foot was run over.

The video was aired on the Fox News show hosted by Tucker Carlson on Tuesday night.

Warnock is running against Sen. Kelly Loeffler (R-Ga.),

Loeffler’s campaign sent a press release to CBS46 about the video and the outlet asked her for comment.

“Domestic abuse is a serious issue that Georgians deserve answers to as to what exactly happened. Unfortunately, it follows a pattern of what we’ve seen that Raphael Warnock has not answered the hard questions in this campaign,” Loeffler said.
