Investigators seize documents from Trump executive’s former daughter-in-law

Officials from the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office took possession of documents potentially related to the Trump Organization and its chief financial officer, Allen Weisselberg, on Thursday as part of an ongoing investigation into the former president’s finances.

The Washington Post reported that investigators took possession of at least three boxes of documents and a laptop computer from Jennifer Weisselberg, Allen Weisselberg’s former daughter-in-law, after obtaining a grand jury subpoena for the materials.

Jennifer Weisselberg until 2018 was married to Allen Weisselberg’s son Barry Weisselberg, who manages Central Park’s Wollman ice rink for the Trump Organization. She has previously claimed, according to Yahoo News, to have numerous documents relating to the Trump Organization’s finances as well as the Weisselberg family’s which she obtained through divorce litigation.

“My knowledge of the documents and my voice connect the flow of money from various banks and from personal finances that bleed directly into the Trump Organization,” she told the Post on Thursday.

“She has joint-bank-account information, credit cards, tax records, tax returns — that’s the meat of what we’re looking at to see what types of patterns we might be able to find,” her lawyer told Business Insider on Tuesday.

Investigations being run by Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance Jr. and New York Attorney General Letitia James are reportedly looking into the elder Weisselberg and whether his family received untaxed benefits from the Trump Organization.

Former President Trump has long denied any wrongdoing regarding his finances, and charged that investigations into him are politically motivated.

The Hill has reached out to the Trump Organization for comment.
