A suspect in a deadly tavern shooting that took place this weekend in Wisconsin was taken into custody on Monday.
The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect as Rakayo A. Vinson, 24, in a press release. He has been charged with one count of first degree homicide with additional criminal charges expected to follow as the investigation unfolds.

The sheriff’s department said on Sunday afternoon that a suspect had been located.
Local station WDJT reported that officials said a person had been removed from the bar and returned to carry out the attack.
Jacqueline Sieracki, who lives near the tavern, told WDJT, “I heard the crowd roaring and a woman screaming and then I heard the sirens, and that’s when I realized something had happened.”
The mass shooting was one of several across the U.S. over the weekend.
A slew of such incidents this year has renewed calls for federal gun control legislation. On Sunday, President Biden’s chief medical adviser Anthony Fauci said the surge in gun violence is a “public health issue.”
Kenosha was one of multiple sites of massive unrest last year amid pushback over police shootings of Black Americans. Then-President Trump visited the city after riots followed the police shooting of Jacob Blake.
