MLB’s Astros offering free tickets to fans who get the COVID-19 vaccine
The MLB’s Houston Astros are offering fans the opportunity to get free tickets by receiving a COVID-19 vaccine.
The Astros on Thursday announced a partnership with the Houston Methodist Hospital called “MLB Vaccinate At The Plate,” where fans can receive tickets to two select games if they get vaccinated at the event.
People who are 17 years of age or older can receive a Pfizer shot at the event, with those younger than 17 requiring permission from a parent of legal guardian.

“This will represent the third vaccination event the Astros have supported in efforts to help the community receive vaccinations easily and efficiently,” the team said in its statement. “The Astros have joined ‘MLB Vaccinate At The Plate’ program in which all 30 MLB clubs will host at least one event.”
Various MLB clubs have joined efforts to get fans vaccinated, including the New York Mets and New York Yankees.
This comes after President Biden announced that the country won’t met his goal of having 70 percent of Americans vaccinated by July 4.
