READ: Cuomo’s defense against sexual harassment investigation

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) on Tuesday released an 85-page response to the report released by New York’s attorney general finding credible evidence of multiple sexual harassment allegations made against him. 

Cuomo has denied the allegations and the findings by the investigation.

Cuomo’s response, released by his attorney Rita M. Glavin, argues that Attorney General Letitia James’s (D) investigation omitted evidence.

“The investigators have directed an utterly biased investigation and willfully ignored evidence inconsistent with the narrative they have sought to weave form the outset,” according to Glavin. 

The document includes multiple pages of photos that the document says prove Cuomo’s conduct is “unremarkable.”

“Democratic and Republican politicians, male and female alike, use handshakes, hugs, and kisses to connect with others,” the document, which is labeled a “position statement” from Cuomo, states.

The photos include images of Cuomo hugging or kissing President Biden, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, former Vice President Al Gore, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and former President Obama, among others. 

Investigators concluded in their report, released earlier on Tuesday, “that the governor sexually harassed a number of state employees through unwelcome and unwanted touching, as well as by making numerous offensive and sexually suggestive comments.”

The report also found that the Executive Chamber responded to the allegations with “unlawful retaliation.”
