Authorities in Texas launched an investigation after three dismembered bodies were found burning in a dumpster.

The Fort Worth Police Department said it responded to a report of a dumpster fire behind an unnamed business at 6:17 a.m. local time Wednesday and discovered the three bodies after firefighters extinguished the flames. The bodies were heavily burned and dismembered, and some body parts were “unaccounted for,” The Associated Press reported on Monday.

Police on Tuesday said they have arrested a suspect, 41-year-old Jason Alan Thornburg, and would hold a press conference later in the day to provide more details.

Police said the bodies appeared to be that of a man, a child and a teenage girl or adult woman. The man was identified on Friday as 42-year-old David Lueras, who had ties to the Fort Worth area, according to police.

“The Fort Worth Police Department’s Homicide Unit is requesting public assistance in this investigation; any information relating to a missing person or persons fitting the description of the victims is appreciated,” police said in a news release last week.
