Pelosi dodges on Dem’s crude Conway comment

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Sunday dodged a question about a Democratic lawmaker’s crude joke about President Trump’s aide, Kellyanne Conway.

Pelosi was asked on CNN’s “State of the Union” whether Rep. Cedric Richmond (D-La.) owed Conway an apology.

“Well, I wasn’t at the dinner. I’m just finding out about this. But the fact is, I’m still in sort of a state of, what is going on here that the person who occupies the White House is a person who was on that Hollywood video that said the crude things he said about women,” Pelosi said.

{mosads}“You all are criticizing Cedric for something he said in the course of the evening. And he maybe should be criticized for that. I just don’t know the particulars,” she continued.

Pelosi also suggested multiple people cracked inappropriate jokes.

“Well, I think everybody was making crude comments,” Pelosi told CNN.

Richmond cracked a joke during the Washington Press Club Foundation’s congressional dinner last week about Conway being on her knees in an Oval Office photo.

Richmond issued a statement saying his joke was not intended to be sexual.
