Kasich on Trump WH shakeups: ‘It’s hard to get anything done’

Ohio Gov. John Kasich (R) said Sunday that President Trump’s constant staffing shakeups in the White House have made it difficult for Republicans to move the president’s agenda forward. 

“The problem you have is when you have chaos among your staff — staff in, staff out; new people here, new people there — it’s hard to get anything done,” Kasich said on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

“You have to be focused, you have to build a team,” he added. “My concern is when you have that kind of chaotic situation in terms of staff, they need to settle it down.”

Kasich’s comments came two days after the departure from the White House of Trump’s chief strategist Stephen Bannon. 

Bannon, who served as chief executive of Trump’s presidential campaign, had seen a turbulent tenure in the White House. He often feuded with the president’s other aides, including Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner and national security adviser H.R. McMaster.

With his departure on Friday, Bannon became the latest top Trump aide to leave the White House.

Last month alone, Trump saw the resignation of his press secretary Sean Spicer, the departure of his chief of staff Reince Priebus, the firing of communications director Anthony Scaramucci and the resignation of press aide Michael Short.
