FEMA administrator: We’re setting up to be in Texas ‘for years’
The head of the Federal Emergency Management Agency on Sunday said FEMA is setting up “for years” of recovery in Texas as Tropical Storm Harvey pounds the Lone Star State.
“FEMA’s going to be there for years,” Brock Long told CNN’s “State of the Union.”
Long said the federal government has 5,000 people on site in Texas and Louisiana.

Long also said he has “great lines of communication” with President Trump, who declared a disaster in Texas on Friday.
“The president has instilled in me all the power I need,” Long said.
“I have no concern. We are doing our job,” he added.
Harvey, which made landfall on Friday as a Category 4 storm before it was downgraded, is blamed for at least five deaths.
