Bannon says Trump should fire Rosenstein if he doesn’t comply with subpoenas

Stephen Bannon said on Sunday that President Trump should order Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein to “comply with every subpoena” he has received from congressional committees in the next two days or be fired.

“The president of the United States tomorrow should direct Rosenstein, order him within 48 hours, he will comply with every subpoena of documents and witnesses to Capitol Hill, to all five committees,” Bannon, a former White House senior adviser, told ABC’s “This Week.”{mosads}

“And if he does not do it in 48 hours, he is fired,” Bannon added.

Bannon also said the subpoenas would eliminate the need for Trump to pardon anyone in special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation.

“You’re not going to need pardons. With the exposure of all of this, we are going to get to the substrate and the foundation of the entire Mueller investigation.”

Bannon said he is not in direct contact with the president, but uses the media to communicate with him.
