Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson (R) said Sunday that he would not vote for Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) if he were a constituent in her district, though he did not outright condemn her.

Appearing on ABC’s “This Week,” Hutchinson spoke with host Martha Raddatz about the state of the Republican Party.

Raddatz asked the governor if he felt Greene was fit to serve in Congress given her controversial comments before and after the recent election. Greene has promoted the QAnon conspiracy theory in the past and was recently seen in a video harassing David Hogg, a survivor of the 2018 high school shooting in Parkland, Fla.

“I’m not going to answer that question as to whether she’s fit to serve because she believes in something that everybody else does not accept. I reject that,” said Hutchinson.

“But she’s going to stand for reelection. I don’t think we ought to punish people from a disciplinary standpoint or party standpoint because they think something a little bit different,” he added.

Raddatz pressed Hutchinson on the issue, arguing that Greene’s promotion of conspiracy theories is more than “a little bit different.”

“I reject that,” Hutchinson, who served in the House of Representatives, said. “I would not vote for her. I would not vote for her.”

“The second question is, should the House of Representatives make a disciplinary call on her? I’m not going to get in the middle of that,” added Hutchinson. “They’re going to have to make that judgment. But whenever you have a broad diversity of the party reject the extreme elements, it’s not mainstream GOP, and that’s what we’ve got to get back to.”

Many Democratic lawmakers are calling for Greene to resign or be censured. Rep. Cori Bush (D-Mo.) said last week that she would be moving her office after being vocally harassed by Greene in the Capitol.
