Lobbying World: Fudge finds a new home after departing Biden admin

Former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Marcia Fudge is joining the law firm Taft Stettinius & Hollister as a partner. She left the Biden administration at the end of March, and before joining Biden’s Cabinet, Fudge represented Ohio in Congress and was mayor of Warrensville Heights, Ohio.

“I greatly look forward to collaborating with my new colleagues in my role as Partner and Chair of Public Policy, which I am honored will allow me to return to my roots in Ohio, and maintain a strong presence in Washington, D.C.,” said Fudge in a statement.

LaKeitha Anderson has joined Greenberg Traurig’s government law and policy practice as a director. She was most recently a policy director with Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck.

Shipt has brought aboard Toney Anaya as vice president of government affairs. Anaya joins from DoorDash, where he led the U.S., Canada, Australia and New Zealand government relations teams, and is a Coca-Cola policy and government relations team alum.

Mike Smullen is joining Alignment Government Strategies as a partner. Smullen previously served as chief of staff to former Rep. Bill Johnson (R-Ohio).

The National Organization on Disability (NOD) has tapped Beth Sirull as its new chief executive officer. Sirull was previously president and CEO of the Jewish Community Foundation San Diego.

Ryan Propis joined the U.S. Travel Association as vice president for security and facilitation. He was most recently deputy staff director and general counsel for the House Committee on Homeland Security, and is a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) alum.

Stacy Skelly is joining the Beer Institute as vice president of strategic communications. Skelly previously served as senior vice president at The Reis Group.The Alpine Group has promoted Lauren Bazel, Barry Brown, Michael Haywood and Curtis Philp from vice presidents to senior vice presidents and policy director Jenny Forrest to vice president.
