Coulter defends CNN’s Anthony Bourdain for joke about poisoning Trump

Conservative commentator Ann Coulter on Saturday defended CNN’s Anthony Bourdain for joking that he would poison President Trump.

“Annoyed prissy conservatives forcing me to defend CNN & Bourdain but…Q: What would U serve Trump & NK dictator? A: ‘Hemlock’ is a JOKE,” Coulter tweeted.

Bourdain, a CNN host and celebrity chef, came under fire for joking that he would serve hemlock at a hypothetical dinner between Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

“If Trump and Kim Jong Un were going to have a bit of a summit to try and mend relations and they wanted you to cater, what would you serve?” a TMZ reporter asked Bourdain.

“Hemlock,” Bourdain deadpanned.

Conservatives have largely condemned Bourdain for the joke, calling his answer a death threat.

The 61-year-old host of CNN’s weekly “Parts Unknown” food and travel series later told Fox News he meant to say “kale” instead of hemlock.
