Rep.-elect Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.-03)

Date of birth: Dec. 15, 1986
Residence: Rifle, Colo.
Occupation: restaurant owner
Education: GED
Family: husband, Jayson; four sons

Lauren Boebert’s rise to political notoriety after interrupting former Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-Texas) at a presidential campaign event over his gun buyback program has been swift.

The owner of Shooter’s Grill, which encourages staff to wear weapons prominently while working, will represent Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District.

Boebert pulled off an upset over five-term lawmaker Rep. Scott Tipton (R) in the primary, before defeating former state Rep. Diane Mitsch Bush (D) in the general.

In addition to Boebert’s pro-gun activism, she has also attracted interest for expressing support of QAnon, a sprawling meta-conspiracy theory which claims baselessly that President Trump is working to expose a powerful cabal of Democrats and Hollywood elites trafficking children.

While Boebert has walked back her support, she has continued to suggest there is some sort of “deep state” running America.

The House approved a resolution condemning QAnon earlier this year, pointing out its several connections to dangerous criminal activity. Seventeen Republicans voted against the resolution.

Boebert is also staunchly anti-abortion and frequently stresses her support of Trump and opposition to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and progressive policies such as the Green New Deal and “Medicare for All.”
