Roger Marshall (R) was elected to fill the seat of retiring Sen. Pat Roberts (R-Kan.).
The congressman and loyalist to President Trump ran on a pro-life platform. He’s an OB-GYN who served in the Army Reserve for seven years and practiced medicine for more than 25 years. He says he has delivered more than 5,000 babies.
“Pro-life isn’t just a slogan. It’s his life’s work,” his campaign website read, adding that he is “fighting harder than ever for the lives of the unborn.”
He ran a private practice as a doctor. Marshall also taught Sunday school for more than 25 years and served as an elder, deacon and board chairman of his church.
While serving in the House, his record shows him voting with Trump 98 percent of the time, and he worked with the president on health care and passing the 2018 farm bill.
Marshall served on the House Agriculture Committee and the Science, Space and Technology Committee. He also served as co-chairman of the Beef Caucus, Biofuel Caucus and Congressional Soils Caucus.
He received notable endorsements for his Senate race from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Kansas Farm Bureau, Kansas for Life and National Right to Life.
