Residence: Hull, Iowa

Randy Feenstra defeated Democrat J.D. Scholten in the race to represent Iowa’s 4th Congressional District, taking over the seat held by Rep. Steve King (R).

Feenstra managed to score an upset against King, who came under fire following controversial remarks on white nationalism and was removed from his committee assignments, during the primary election in June.

The Iowa Republican received key endorsements during the course of his primary from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the National Association of Realtors, the Defending Main Street super PAC, the National Right to Life Committee, and the Republican Jewish Coalition, in addition to top Republicans including Rep. Steve Stivers (Ohio) and Karl Rove.

Prior to getting into politics, Feenstra worked as a sales manager for the Foreign Candy Company before he became the Hull City administrator. He was later elected Sioux County treasurer before running unopposed for the state Senate in 2008.

In addition to serving in the state Senate, the Iowa Republican teached business classes at his alma mater Dordt College.
