Yvette Herrell (R) is a representative in the New Mexico State House and small-business owner. She unseated Rep. Xochitl Torres Small (D-N.M.), flipping the seat back to red.

Herrell unsuccessfully ran against Torres Small in 2018 for the seat vacated by former Rep. Steve Pearce (R), who endorsed Herrell in 2020. She was also endorsed by former New Mexico Rep. Harry Teague (D).

She served four terms in the New Mexico state House. She ran on her support for President Trump, who she said she has backed since the beginning.

She touted her rural roots in her campaign and vowed to work to safely reopen the economy, defend the Constitution and secure the border. She ran on fighting for the middle class, creating jobs, protecting life and religious liberty, strengthening the military, protecting farmers and ranchers, expanding energy production and reforming health care.
