Shareholders in the Digital World Acquisition Corp. (DWAC) voted to grant the company a one-month extension to close the deal with Trump Media & Technology Group, according to multiple reports.
“Thank you for all of the outstanding support,” DWAC CEO Eric Swider said in a Truth Social post Tuesday.
“Please understand my silence. We remain focused on the task at hand and are watching every word we say.”
The extension came just days before the Sept. 8 deadline and is the company’s second yearlong extension.
The agreement is the latest chapter in the ongoing troubled merger between DWAC and Truth Social’s parent company, my colleague Julia Shapero reported.
