Musk’s new venture xAI said Grok boasts a “rebellious streak” and real-time access to information on X, the platform formerly called Twitter.
Musk, the owner of X, said in a Sunday post the new Grok tool will be integrated with the social media site and exist as a stand-alone app.
At the moment, Grok is in a “very early beta product stage,” xAI company said in a blog post.
The company said it is the “best we could do with 2 months of training — so expect it to improve rapidly with each passing week with your help.”
Musk said Grok’s “real-time access to info” from X will give it a “massive advantage” over other platforms.
The Grok AI assistant will be provided to X users who pay for the Premium+ subscription, which is $16 per month, Musk said. Users can also sign up for a waitlist to get access to Grok as the company builds on the prototype.
Grok is part of a growing list of chatbots looking to rival OpenAI’s popular ChatGPT.
In a post, xAI warned users, “don’t use it if you hate humor!”
