Grassroots America shows the people support Donald Trump

Donald Trump is truly the president of the people, as the latest fundraising figures show. His reelection campaign raised more than $30 million in the first quarter of this year, outpacing all of his Democratic rivals and setting an unprecedented mark for an incumbent president of the United States.

This impressive fundraising figure did not come from large corporations and rich donors. Nearly 99 percent of donations were for $200 or less, with an average donation of just $34. Just like in 2016, when candidate Trump raised more small dollar donations than Barack Obama did in 2012, and more than Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders combined, the silent majority spread across the country is once again making its voice heard.

Trump “all but erased his enormous fundraising disadvantage against Hillary Clinton in the span of just two months” by “converting the passion of his core followers into a flood of small donations on a scale rarely seen in national politics,” the New York Times wrote ahead of the 2016 election.

{mosads}This time around, the forgotten men and women of America are speaking even louder, putting their faith in the man who brought this country back from the brink. On top of the Trump campaign fundraising on its own, the Republican National Committee brought in more than $45 million in the first quarter, the highest amount it has raised in a nonelection year.

All told, his reelection effort has more than $82 million in the bank, and it shows no signs of slowing down. The Trump campaign has already enjoyed eight fundraising days pulling in more than seven figures this year, fueled by contributions from over a million new online donors since his inauguration, including 100,000 new online donors this year alone.

This outpouring of grassroots support reflects widespread satisfaction with the accomplishments of Trump since he entered the Oval Office. From the heroic fight of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh against the radical left to the largest tax cuts in our history, Trump has shown the country and the world what “Make America Great Again” really means.

It means fighting for a secure border, cutting stifling regulations, and reversing course on foreign policy gone mad. It also means fighting back against the extremist impulses of the radical left and never surrendering to the siren song of fake news and socialism. No matter what, the people know that with Trump at the helm, their government will put them first.

While Trump might be a billionaire, he is really a man of the people whose top priority has always been making our country much stronger and more prosperous, especially for the forgotten men and women that Washington ignored for so many years. The people recognize that Trump is fighting for them, and they are supporting him in record numbers one dollar at a time.
