Feehery: The theme song of the counterrevolution

Let’s go Brandon” is the theme song of the counterrevolution.

It exploded on the music scene to skyrocket to the top of the charts, eclipsing Adele’s stirring comeback.

The tune itself is a nod to our somnolent president, who between naps, grumpily shouts directions at his progressive handlers: “Mask the children”; “Mandate the vaccine”; “Tax the rich…no, not those rich”, “Ban pipelines…no, not those pipelines, the American ones.”

But it is also a nod to our corrupt media culture that works overtime to cover-up for the administration’s manifold failures, just as it tilted, on purpose, the election of the president.

President Biden won the election, but don’t tell me he won it fairly or squarely. Not when the massive social media company formerly known as Facebook spent hundreds of millions of dollars squelching conservative dissent in the days leading up to the election, suppressing stories that could have helped the Donald. Meta-mind, the founder, also personally donated a large fortune to help local election officials steer votes in the left direction.

Today’s elections in New Jersey and Virginia are a test of the strength of the counterrevolution.

During the French Revolution, noblemen, shop-keepers, peasants and most importantly church-going Catholics rose up in the Vendee region southwest of Paris to violently oppose the Jacobins who were destroying the cultural foundations of French society. This counterrevolution, while ultimately unsuccessful, slowed the momentum of the radicals and ultimately set the stage for the rise of Napoleon.

Will the elections in Virginia and New Jersey prove to be a turning point that stops the radical assault on Western civilization and our capitalist society that is currently occurring not only in our nation’s capital but also in its suburbs?

We will find out shortly.

Like the French revolution, the Biden revolution has been led by elites who want to totally transform society, and in the process better their own already favorable position atop the pecking order. How many Black Lives Matter signs are festooned on the vast lawns of the super-wealthy in Upper Northwest DC, as if this were some sort of revelation proclaimed by Lord Fauci himself? Having the right signs in all the right places is a leading indicator of the most virtuous among us, don’t you know?

But these elections later today present a challenge to the ruling elite from the proletariat and their true allies. Former Virginia Democratic Gov. Terry McAuliffe says that schools belong to the teacher unions and the parents don’t have the right to have their voices heard. New Jersey Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy says that he is going to make New Jersey the East Coast version of California, and if you aren’t comfortable with paying higher taxes, you should probably find somewhere else to live, maybe West Virginia.

McAuliffe, of course, sent all five of his kids to private schools, so what really happens in the public schools is of no personal concern. And Murphy made his money as a Wall Street speculator, so paying a few extra thousand dollars a year is but a drop in the bucket to him and his rich friends.

We are going to find out if the mass of voters finally tire of being led by a bunch of out-of-touch elites who find the little people either mostly annoying or completely deplorable.

Progressives are beating themselves up over the inability of Democrats to pass both the BIF and the BBB before the elections today. If only we could have passed more inflation-causing government programs, Terry and Phil would be in such a stronger position today, the argument goes.

But I got a feeling that most voters don’t want more wasteful government programs. What they want is for the government they already are paying for to do the job it was designed to do.  They want the public schools to teach marketable skills to their kids and stay open. They want highway programs to build and maintain highways. They want cops and firefighters to stay on the job and not be fired off because Sleepy Joe grumpily demanded a vaccine mandate.

Today, we see the state of the counterrevolution and we listen to it to the beat of “Let’s Go Brandon.”
