Report: Right-wing group posted FBI officials’ addresses

Federal investigators are probing the release of the personal addresses of several current and former top government officials, according to a report.

The home addresses of people associated with the FBI, the Department of Homeland Security and other agencies were posted online, along with a message calling the individuals “traitors.”

“”LET THESE EVIL NWO SATANISTS KNOW THAT THERE WILL BE HELL TO PAY FOR THEIR 911 TREASON, AND THEIR FUTURE FEMA CAMP PLANNED PUBLIC CRACKDOWN TREASON ALSO JESUS IS LORD, AND THE PUBLIC IS IN CHARGE, NOT THESE SATANIC NWO STOOGES,” the message stated, according to CBS News. The location of the message was not identified.

Law enforcement agencies are looking at whether the poster gained access to any restricted systems in order to find the addresses, many of which were available online. It is not clear a cyber intrusion took place.

Posting personal information for a targeted individual online is known as “doxing” in hacker circles. It is used to punish opponents and can lead to harassment and scams.

“The safety of our workforce is always a primary concern. DHS has notified employees who were identified in the posting and encouraged them to be vigilant. DHS will adjust security measures, as appropriate, to protect our employees,” the department said in a statement.

The incident echoes the release of information on 100 U.S. military personnel by supporters of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) last month. The individuals behind the post had urged ISIS followers to kill the servicemembers on the list.
