Hackers have stolen the contact information for up to 1.5 million Verizon business customers.
But the telecommunications giant said that no sensitive data or proprietary details about its customers’ networks were taken in the breach at Verizon Enterprise Solutions, which provides technology services to businesses.
{mosads}The hack was first reported by security journalist Brian Krebs, who discovered the contact information of roughly 1.5 million Verizon Enterprise customers for sell on a dark Web forum.
“Our investigation to date found an attacker obtained basic contact information on a number of our enterprise customers,” Verizon said in a statement to The Hill.
The company also said it had fixed the security flaw that led to the intrusion.
The dark Web seller was offering the entire package of customer information for $100,000. Chunks of 100,000 records were also offered for $10,000 each, according to Krebs.
Verizon is notifying customers affected by the breach.
