Ohio Gov. John Kasich’s (R) website was hacked on Sunday, appearing to show pro-ISIS propaganda.
“You will be held accountable Trump, you and all your people for every drop of blood flowing in Muslim countries,” the website’s home page read for a short time.
“I Love Islamic state,” the message continued.
{mosads}The page displayed an Arabic message and played a call to Islamic prayer.
Ohio first lady Karen Kasich’s website, along with the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections website, were also hacked. Their pages included a line saying “Hacked by Team System DZ.”
Ohio State Treasurer Josh Mandel posted on Facebook saying, “Wake up freedom-loving Americans. Radical Islam infiltrating the heartland.”
The hack comes as the revelations continue to come out surrounding Russian hacking of the 2016 U.S. presidential election.
Kasich’s office said in a statement that IT staff are working to restore the computer systems that were affected.
“All affected servers have been taken off line and we are investigating how these hackers were able to deface these websites. We also are working with law enforcement to better understand what happened,” the governor’s office said.
