Hudson has worked with BAE Systems, the U.S. arm of Europe’s
BAE Systems Plc., since 2007. She’s had a long career in the defense industry,
and was a vice president at General Dynamics before joining BAE Systems.
{mosads}Hudson has been at the helm of BAE Systems as the industry
is preparing for a drawdown in the U.S. defense market amid the winding down of
the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and budget cuts under sequestration.
“She has led the transformation of BAE Systems, Inc. by
streamlining the organization, reducing costs, increasing efficiency and speed
to market, and diversifying the company’s portfolio of products and services,”
Ian King, CEO of BAE Systems Plc., said in a statement.
BAE’s stock was up 0.2 percent on the London Stock Exchange on Tuesday.
