Lone-wolf threat ‘huge,’ Rogers says

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Rogers (R-Mich.) on Sunday described the threat of lone wolf terrorists as “huge” — and getting worse.

{mosads}The Michigan Republican just returned from talks with British security, defense and intelligence officials.

“In Britain, they’re very close to being over washed, meaning their resources can’t keep up with the individuals that have both gone to Syria and fought, and have come back,” he said on “CBS’s Face the Nation.” “There will be a point where they’ll have to do a priority list, meaning people they think are a danger, they can’t keep up with.”

“We’re not that far behind,” he added.

Rogers said a case in Australia is concerning because people were told by Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) leadership to stay in Australia and commit spontaneous acts of terror instead of going to Syria to fight.

“That’s what’s changed, that’s why people are so upset and nervous,” he said.
