Adm. Stavridis to head Naval Institute upon retirement
{mosads}Stavridis is retiring after holding his NATO post since
2009. Air Force Gen. Philip Breedlove has been nominated to succeed him after
former U.S. Commander in Afghanistan Gen. John Allen passed on the appointment.
“I look forward to taking on this responsibility after
retirement from the Navy,” Stavridis said in a statement.
