Coast Guard rescues F-16 pilot after mid-air collision

The collision between the two F-16s in the 113th Wing D.C.
Air National Guard occurred at about 10:30 p.m. on Thursday when the Coast
Guard received an automated distress signal after one pilot ejected.

{mosads}The Coast Guard dispatched an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter to retrieve
the pilot. The crew hoisted him out of the water at 12:30 a.m. Friday and took
him to Joint Base Andrews.

The Coast Guard said the rescued pilot was in good
condition, and both pilots were being treated for minor injuries, according to
the Air Force.

The cause of the collision is under investigation, the Air
Force said.
