An 18-year-old Navy recruit recently died during boot camp in Illinois, a Navy spokesman confirmed.
Kelsey Nobles, of Mobile, Ala., died Tuesday after collapsing at the Navy Recruit Training Center in Great Lakes, Ill., Navy spokesman Lt. Joseph W. Pfaff told NBC News.
Nobles’s death is the second at the boot camp in recent months, the outlet noted. The Navy said it is investigating Nobles’s death.{mosads}
The Navy did not immediately return a request for comment from The Hill.
Nobles went into cardiac arrest before dying, according to WKRG, a CBS affiliate in Mobile, Ala.
Harold Nobles, her father, told WKRG that his daughter was “full of energy.”
“She would give anyone anything, her last her dollar. She was the sweetest soul. That’s the best way I can describe her,” he said.
