Veterans call for Trump impeachment in July 4 video
A group of veterans called for President Trump to be impeached in a video released July 4.
Trump during the Independence Day holiday spoke at the Lincoln Memorial in an event that heavily featured the military.
In the video, released on the YouTube channel of Democratic donor and Need to Impeach founder Tom Steyer, the veterans challenged President Trump’s relationship with foreign powers and said they questioned his commitment to American values.
{mosads}“Not only is [Trump] cruel — I believe he’s also a criminal,” said Marine Corps vet Marie Delus.
“Fourth of July is about celebrating our independence from foreign powers,” said Army veteran Perry O’Brien. “How can we do that when we have someone in the White House who actively conspired with a foreign adversary to get there?” he asked.
“I don’t see Donald Trump as someone who is serious about our values, who is serious about his job to serve the American people,” said Kyle Bibby, who served in the Marines.
The video was also put together by Veterans’ Group Common Defense, for which Bibby is an organizer, according to HuffPost.
President Trump, during his July Fourth event, praised the military while standing next to Pentagon officials. The event also involved flyovers with military aircraft.
“The future of American freedom rests on the shoulders of men and women willing to defend it,” Trump said in front of the Lincoln Memorial. “Now is the chance to join our military and make a truly great statement in life, and you should do it.”
