Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx will meet with his Canadian counterpart on Thursday to talk about the safe transportation of crude oil by rail.
Foxx will meet with Canadian Transportation Minister Lisa Raitt in Toronto on Thursday to hash out details about differences over safety regulations for trains carrying crude oil among the two nations.

The meeting comes after the Transportation Department proposed new standards for trains carrying oil earlier this year and after a number of derailments across the U.S. raised concerns among the public and lawmakers.
