Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg will participate in a climate strike outside the White House Friday as part of a six-day visit to Washington, D.C., a representative for Thunberg said in a statement Tuesday.

Thunberg will join other youth activists to gather and demand action one week before a series of global climate strikes slated for Sept. 20. Thunberg will also join other youth activists in lobbying Congress during her visit to the capital, according to the statement.

{mosads}Thunberg, who does not travel by air due to carbon emissions, traveled to the U.S. in an emission-free yacht to attend the United Nations Climate Action Summit this month. Earlier today, she gave her first live U.S. interview to “CBS This Morning,” saying world leaders must “step out of [their] comfort zone” to address climate change.

“We also need to be outside of our comfort zone to prevent the worst consequences from happening,” she said Tuesday. “What I want people to do now is to become aware of the crisis that is here. I tell world leaders the science, and how it looks like.”
