The Senate on Thursday passed a resolution sponsored by Sen. Ashley Moody (R-Fla.) disapproving of the Biden administration’s rule related to energy conservation standards for commercial refrigerators and freezers.

The measure passed 52-45. It has already passed the House and is expected to be signed by President Trump.

The resolution, offered under the Congressional Review Act, would unwind the Biden-era regulation prescribing energy conservation standards for refrigerators and freezers.

The final rule, which the Department of Energy issued on Jan. 17, amended the standards for refrigerators and freezers to significantly increase energy conservation, according to the Biden administration.

Moody told The Hill that the Biden administration rule was passed at the “eleventh hour.”

“A lot of these things were passed to accomplish an agenda that is ultimately going to cost the American people and … American businesses a lot of money,” she said.

“A lot of us very interested in making sure that we are making very strategic, well-thought-out, with-consequences-in-mind decisions when it relates to policies,” she added. “I think you’ll see a lot of these regulations rolled back.”

The resolution was co-sponsored by Sens. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) and Tom Cotton (R-Ark.).
