House appropriators to get greater access to intelligence

House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Mike Rogers (R-Mich.) said in a statement that three appropriators will be allowed to attend Intelligence Committee briefings going forward.

Reps. Ken Calvert (R-Calif.), Rodney Frelinghuysen (R-N.J), and Norm Dicks (D-Wash.) will take on new roles as liaisons.

“The 9/11 Commission recommended that the congressional authorization and appropriation committees work more closely on intelligence matters. I am looking forward to working closely with Congressmen Calvert, Frelinghuysen and Dicks to eliminate the daylight that existed between our intelligence bills in the past,” said Rogers.
