Cheney on O-Care promise: ‘It was a lie. It was deliberate’

Former Vice President Dick Cheney (R) said Monday that President Obama knowingly lied when he said people who liked their healthcare plans could keep them under the new law.

{mosads}“It was a lie. It was deliberate,” Cheney said on Fox and Friends. “They knew if they told the truth, the bill would’ve never passed.”

The administration has since offered a work-around, allowing states to continue offering plans that don’t meet ObamaCare’s mandated requirements for an additional year.

The administration proposed the executive action to quell the bipartisan outcry that the healthcare law doesn’t live up to the president’s promise.

Cheney, who recently had a heart transplant, said continuity of coverage was one of the most important aspects of his recovery.

“One of the most important decisions I made was I had exactly two doctors who covered me over that 35-year period of time and that was crucial in terms of my care,” he said.
