Bus tours to hit candidates on abortion, women’s health

The groups’ two campaigns are titled “Women Are Watching” and “Women Speak Out,” respectively.

Planned Parenthood Action Fund President Cecile Richards said her group’s tour will feature women and families under threat from policies backed by Romney.

{mosads}”Politicians who would defund Planned Parenthood — as Mitt Romney has pledged to do — would deny millions of women access to birth control and cancer screenings,” Richards said in a statement.

“These are basic economic issues for women and families, and supporting family planning is smart fiscal policy for the country.”

On the other side, the SBA List is headlining its campaign with the lines “Defeat Abortion Extremists” and “Abortion is Not Healthcare.”

“Pro-life women from across the country are hitting the road to expose President Obama’s abortion record and that of his extreme team,” the announcement stated.

According to a recent poll, voters see concerns about abortion and women’s reproductive health as less important to their choice for president than other health issues such as Medicare. But debates tend to run the gamut over the course of a campaign season.

The Planned Parenthood Action Fund tour will hit 11 battleground states, including Virginia, Ohio and Pennsylvania, according to the group.

The SBA List bus will visit Iowa, Wisconsin, Ohio, Virginia and Florida starting on Monday, the group said.
