Obama urges Americans to get health coverage in new holiday video

Former President Obama on Tuesday encouraged Americans to get health insurance coverage in a holiday video published on his Twitter.

The video features the former president providing a list of holiday gifts people can get for $10 or less, including a desk zen garden, a Spider-Man Lego set and an “adorable” hoodie with Obama’s dogs on it.

The last item Obama mentions after saying “here’s the best one” is health care, highlighting insurance offerings provided through his signature law the Affordable Care Act.

Obama mentions that most ObamaCare plans on HealthCare.gov have a monthly insurance plan of $10 or less and all will cover pre-existing conditions.

“I thought it was about time I share my holiday gift list — a few practical items, all $10 or less,” he posted with the video. “The best one? Health care for you or somebody you care about. The deadline to sign up is December 15. Go to http://HealthCare.gov and get covered.”

The former president signed the Affordable Care Act into law in 2010, expanding health care coverage among uninsured populations across the country.
