Hillary Clinton took aim at President Trump on Thursday over his response to the global outbreak of coronavirus, spelling out several policy solutions she said should be immediately implemented by the White House.
In a short tweet, the 2016 Democratic presidential nominee pointed to actions such as quarantines and federally mandated paid sick leave as solutions the White House should get behind.
Several of the suggestions are included in the legislation unveiled by House Democrats late Wednesday night intended to stimulate an economy thrown into chaos by the outbreak.
Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Thursday she was open to working with Republicans on changes to the bill but intended to pass legislation quickly through the House.
“We have had ongoing conversations about it. We will be bringing the bill to the floor,” she said. “We’ve given a good deal of time for them to review the package, and we’ll go from there.”
