Separately, the panel confirmed Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.) as chairman of the subpanel on Near Eastern and South and Central Asian Affairs, while officially giving new member Sen. Ed Markey (D-Mass.) the chairmanship of the foreign aid subpanel.
