Snowden receives whistleblowing award from former US officials

{mosads}The State Department said Lon Snowden did not appear to be breaking any laws by visiting his son.

“He’s accused of very serious charges here,” spokeswoman Marie Harf reiterated, “and he’ll be accorded full due process and protections applicable under U.S. law.”

Snowden’s visitors included former CIA analyst Ray McGovern, who is helping organize a “Thank You Ed Snowden” campaign as Congress prepares hearings on NSA spying programs that Snowden brought to light. The campaign features ads that will wrap around city buses in Washington, D.C.. in the coming weeks.
