State Department slams ‘devastating’ cut to foreign aid

{mosads}Harf did credit lawmakers for fully funding President Obama’s $4.8 billion request for embassy security, a renewed priority after last year’s deadly terror attack on the U.S. mission in Benghazi, Libya.

“What we do overseas is about more than just security,” she said. “Obviously that’s a key concern. But we need to be able to go out overseas, promote Americans interests, and promote American values.

“And the only way to do that is through these programs.”
